Hadith & Sunnah

  • God's message - no god but God
  • God's messengers and prophets delivered the same message
  • Disobeying god's message and the Quarn

God’s message to humanity has always been simple and straightforward – there is no god but God; worship God alone (the First Commandment) [3:18]. Satan on the other hand, constantly promotes polytheism, and will use any means possible to divert our attention away from God alone [2:30].

God chose Abraham [2:135] to establish the religion of Islam (Submission). Abraham was a monotheist worshiper of God alone [3:95] [6:161]. His life pre-dated the arrival of Judaism and Christianity [3:67]. All the prophets and messengers were sent to deliver the same message [10:37]. Muhammad did not bring a new religion or a different religion. God chose Muhammad to be the last prophet of Islam (Submission) and to deliver the final scripture, the Quran. Muhammad was commanded to follow the religion of Abraham [16:123].

After Muhammad died, as time passed, some Muslims began to doubt the message of the Quran, forgetting that the Quran was also a messenger of God [11:1-3]. Instead of trusting God, through the Quran, to guide them, they asked themselves, “What would Muhammad do?” They revered the prophet to the extent that his alleged Hadith and Sunnah became as important to them as a source of guidance as the Quran itself. By collecting and establishing Hadith and Sunnah of the prophet Muhammad, they were in fact disobeying God, as well as the prophet. As a result, they established a new religion, not authorized by God.
